Square 2

Square number 2 was finished in the waiting room at the hospital - I was there for simply ages, being stocking stitch it rolls up, hence the finger in one corner of the picture! The way thw red is turning out is very strange, it's a nuch pinker darker red than this, for any of you used to DMC silk colours it's much more dark Christmas red than the orangey Christmas red!

I don't suppose I'll end up doing the squares in the book order, but this is square 4, seed stitch and lattice work, 4 more repeats to go, but this is only bus knitting if I'm not chatting to anyone so I may well do scarf tomorrow - the cheap yarn I'm using for the latest scarf has multiple ends in teh ball and is most annoying.

Square 43

If anyone points out that somewhere I gained 3 stitches I shall either1) cry, 2) deny it or, 3) poke them with a pointy knitting stick!
I really haven't enjoyed this pattern, it's definitely the purl 3 together that gave me a pain, I think I may try slip 1 purl 2 together pass the slip stitch over some time and see if it looks the same, if not I'll just have to suffer when I finally get around to making the arran sweater I'm planning.
I've cast on square 2, I'll take it to my hospital appointment tomorrow and see if I can finish it, striped stocking stitch shouldn't take too long.

Square 3 at least

This one is easy, a nice simple basket stitch, I'm having problems with 43, it's very slow and I just ahd to rip back about 4 rows because I'd got in a hopeless confusion and lost a stitch (at least I think I had!) I'll return to it tomorrow and won't try to knit it whilst watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer!

Squares 3 and 43!"

This is part of square 3, I like the basketweave pattern, it's quick and easy, I'm making half the single colour squares in each colour as I'm only using 2 colours.

I looked up the correct name for this stitch, trinity stitch, it hasn't grown much due to my work on the scarf in my other blog!

A candy cane square

This is the garter stitch square, as if I need anymore garter stitch in my life at present. This is the start of a different colour of afghan, I've put away the oterh one - it has some bad associations for me at the moment so I'm making a smaller cheerful version for now.

The start of a square of bobbles, I wanted some variety in my life, although I'm never keen on purl 3 togethers!
